AK/25 - Aboutwater collection, design Paik Sun Kim, is a poetic project a synthesis of harmony

The AK/25 series designed for the Boffi-Fantini Aboutwater collection by Korean architect Paik Sun Kim is a project that fascinates for its essentiality, purity and modernity. Clear lines, proportions and volumes create a perfect visual harmony, translating into an absolute and light sign.

Paik Sun Kim, a Korean architect who prematurely passed away in 2017, studied oriental painting at university and painting became the driving force in his projects, lightly outlined but with an assertive touch, including lots of white and black brush strokes. His architecture, as well as his objects and creations, are a harmonious synthesis of oriental philosophy and modern aesthetic, of art and nature.
Among his most interesting projects one can find the Lotte World Tower Signiel Residence Club, a space where the competent use of materials – stone, wood, fabric – and the linearity of the furniture pieces achieve a perfect composition balance; the poetic outfitting made of natural materials created inside the Korean dining Noodles space for the Seoul Design Festival; the T Lound Lounge Bar in Seoul where glass and mirror, truly the main elements in this project, create magic refraction effects.
It has been a true pleasure to work with him, we are now presenting the result, the product developed starting from that first prototype, a project that has fascinated us for his essentiality, purity and modernity.
We shared this project with Roberto Gavazzi and today it becomes part of Aboutwater, the brand born from the partnership between Boffi and Fantini.”

"I met Paik Sun Kim, Korean architect and designer, on the occasion of his personal exhibit at Hakgojae Gallery in Seoul, for which we had realized the prototype of one of his faucet designs. I had therefore the possibility to delve into his work and I literally fell in love with the lightness and poetry running through his architecture.“
