Design Paik Sun Kim

A harmonious synthesis of oriental philosophy and contemporary aesthetics. Poetic and light lines inspired by art and nature. A definite, essential, pure, modern design.

born from the partnership between Boffi and Fantini

I
met
Paik
Sun
Kim
on
the
occasion
of
his
solo
exhibition
at
the
Hakgojae
Gallery
in
Seoul,
for
which
we
created
the
prototype
of
one
of
his
washbasin
mixer
designs.
This
gave
me
an
opportunity
to
learn
more
about
his
work
and
I
literally
fell
in
love
with
the
lightness
and
poetry
of
his
architecture.
Paik
Sun
Kim
studied
Oriental
painting
at
university
and
painting
is
a
driving
force
in
the
way
he
depicts
his
projects
with
barely
sketched
strokes,
but
with
bold
lines,
lots
of
white
and
a
few
strokes
of
black.
His
architecture,
like
his
objects,
is
a
harmonious
synthesis
of
oriental
philosophy
and
modern
aesthetics,
of
art
and
nature.
We
were
delighted
to
work
with
him
and
the
AK/25
is
the
product
that
emerged
from
the
development
of
that
first
prototype,
a
project
that
fascinated
us
so
much
with
its
essentiality,
purity
and
modernity.
